Hypothes.is - An Annotation Editor
Hypothes.is is a free online browser annotation tool that allows you to browse through web pages and PDFs, and you can make private and public annotations to any of these.
After installing the Hypothes.is extension and logging in, you can just click the right mouse button and start an annotation. If you want to publish your annotations, you can do it by opening the popup menu and clicking the icon of the annotation you wish to publish.
If you wish to create a list of annotations that you wish to read later, you can just press the plus sign.
There is an option that allows you to add comments to annotations, so if you find anything interesting, you can just click the comment icon of the annotation you want to add comments to.
The annotation editor itself is simple, and it's really easy to use. It is possible to add text, links, images and audio to your annotations. It also supports different HTML tags and attributes, so you can add any kind of element to your annotation.
This extension also allows you to download your annotations and to download or create PDF versions of your annotations.
Note that your annotations and PDFs are not saved in a database, and they are not in the cloud. They are only locally on your computer.
